TRIBUTE

[2024]

In my tribute to the renowned designer Issey Miyake, I embarked on a project to create a unique portrait that not only captures the essence of the artist but also pays tribute to the iconic patterns synonymous with the Miyake brand. Beginning with a handcrafted approach, I printed the portrait and meticulously traced the folded patterns inspired by the iconic Baobab bag. Taking cues from the distinctive folds, synonymous with Miyake's design language, I marked and cut the portrait, to create depth and texture. Beneath this intricately cut layer, the same portrait in vibrant colors was placed, creating a visually dynamic and captivating composition.

The resulting artwork was then photographed and further refined using Photoshop, culminating in a final piece intended for the cover of Numéro Tokyo magazine. This project aimed to seamlessly blend the craftsmanship and innovation associated with Issey Miyake's designs, creating a visually striking concept that resonates with the brand's iconic aesthetic.
